About Me

Hi,
My name is Jackie and I am the baker at The Right Dough.
SiP created a strange situation where many people were not able to get good bread because it had been sold out at the stores. Bread is a basic food source, how can we be out of it? With my skill sets and bags of flour, I decided to help my community out by providing real bread.
Food has always been at the center of my life. As daughter of an immigrant, my family cooked a lot and I was always around the kitchen waiting for a bite, but I was really curious about the science behind food.
I got into bread baking after being inspired by my German mother-in-law’s wood fire oven. After making a few loaves of bread, I decided to find ways to create authentic baked goods that my husband has been missing while living in the US.
After working for over 8 years in the corporate tech industry, I left my job and decided to pursue professional bread baking.
I became volunteer at the Artisan Baking Center in Petaluma and was accepted for the school’s internship program, where I was able to learn under the guidance of the world-renowned bread baker, Craig Ponsford. Throughout my internship, I learned from many amazing bakers and chefs that came through the school which included Master Bakers from Germany, Italy, Austria, France, and all across America.
I was also given the opportunity to assist with the USA Coupe De Monde de Boulangerie team with their practices and I watched them compete at Europain 2020 in Paris, France.
I am a certified ServSafe® Food Protection Manager and a Bread Baker's Guild of America Certified Bread Baker.
As a "foodie," I have tinkered with artisanal foods for over 10 years. I learned how to work with chocolate and make confections, brew beer, roast coffee beans, ferment vegetables, make cheese, yogurt, tofu, pasta, potstickers...you get the point.
I love food and I never planned to start something like this (life is unpredictable), but I am really excited and I am happy to share my food with with everyone.
